AI consultancy in the UK, run by senior engineers

Most UK AI consultancy engagements end with a strategy deck. Ours end with a system in production. You work directly with career engineers — 30+ years experience, no juniors learning on your budget — on GMT/BST hours, under UK GDPR-aligned data handling.

    How UK teams engage us

Four shapes cover almost every UK AI consultancy conversation we have. Each is fixed in scope, billed weekly against hours actually worked, and ends with something your own engineers can run.

    • 2 weeks

      AI opportunity and readiness review

We audit your data, systems and the workflow you want to change, then come back with the two or three use cases worth building and the ones that are not. Written up as an architecture and cost model you can take to your board.

    • 6-16 weeks

      Production AI build

RAG systems, LLM applications, forecasting and computer vision built into your existing stack — with evaluation harnesses, cost controls, observability and a deployment pipeline your team can own afterwards.

    • Ongoing, part-time

      Fractional AI/engineering leadership

A senior engineer accountable for AI strategy, vendor choices, hiring and delivery governance. Common for UK Seed and Series A teams who need the judgement without a full-time CTO salary.

    • 1-3 weeks

      AI security and compliance review

Model, data and pipeline review against UK GDPR and ICO guidance, plus the security questionnaires your enterprise customers will send you. Findings ranked by real exploitability, not scanner noise.

UK work we can talk about

British clients, British regulatory context, systems still running in production.

    • London Medical Laboratory

A UK diagnostics business whose platform we re-architected on AWS with hardened, automated infrastructure — the kind of foundation any clinical AI workload has to sit on before it is safe to build.

    • Be-IQ

A UK behavioural finance firm (beiq.co.uk) whose failing AWS infrastructure we rescued, cutting cost and restoring reliability so the data and modelling side of the product could be trusted again.

AI consultancy UK — frequently asked questions

The questions UK buyers ask us before the first call.

In our case, three things: work out which problems in your business are genuinely worth solving with AI, design a system that fits your existing data and stack, and build it into production with evaluation, monitoring and cost controls. We do not stop at a strategy document — every engagement is expected to leave running software your own team can maintain.

Yes. Core delivery runs in GMT/BST with a UK point of contact, so stand-ups, reviews and incident calls happen inside your working day rather than overnight. We contract in GBP or USD and invoice weekly against hours actually worked.

Data handling is designed against UK GDPR and ICO guidance from the first architecture session: lawful basis and data minimisation reviewed before any model touches personal data, encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and audit logging, and clear decisions on which data may leave your tenancy or the UK. Where a model provider is involved we document what is sent, what is retained and how retention is disabled.

A two-week AI opportunity and readiness review is the usual starting point and is fixed in scope. Production builds typically run six to sixteen weeks depending on data readiness and integration surface. We bill weekly on hours actually worked rather than a padded fixed price, so the cost tracks the real engineering, and you get a cost model for running the system before you commit to building it.

Retrieval-augmented search over internal documents, LLM-assisted customer support and back-office workflows, document extraction and classification, forecasting on operational data, and computer vision for inspection or diagnostics-adjacent work. The common thread is a measurable workflow with existing data behind it — not a general-purpose chatbot.

Frequently. We start with a short review of the code, data pipelines, infrastructure and evaluation approach, then give you an honest read on whether to fix the current build or rebuild the parts that will not survive production load. Rescue work is one of the things senior-only teams are genuinely faster at.

We work with clients across the UK — London, Manchester, Edinburgh and beyond — as a remote-first senior team on UK hours. Onsite workshops for kick-off or architecture sessions can be arranged where they add value.

No, but you do need data. If the data exists somewhere — even messily, across systems — we can build the pipelines as part of the engagement. If there is no usable data at all, we will say so at the readiness review and recommend the data engineering work first rather than sell you a model that has nothing to learn from.
