    Project Overview

    NeuroGym engaged Scalexa to migrate an existing high-traffic WordPress platform from DigitalOcean to AWS. The goal was to move from a manually scaled, load-balanced setup to an automatically scaling AWS architecture, while establishing a longer-term support relationship for ongoing operational reliability.

    NeuroGym operates a large WordPress site supporting memberships, forums, and content delivery. Traffic had outgrown the existing infrastructure, which ran on DigitalOcean using HAProxy load balancing across approximately ten application nodes backed by a very large, centralised database server. The site relied on heavy WordPress plugins, increasing operational complexity. The client needed scalability without sacrificing stability.

    The engagement required migrating a complex WordPress environment from DigitalOcean to AWS while keeping production stable. We needed to design an architecture capable of automatic scaling under unpredictable traffic loads, support plugin-heavy workloads without introducing instability, and establish safe staging environments for development and testing.

    Scalexa designed and implemented a scalable AWS WordPress architecture to replace the fixed DigitalOcean setup. We migrated the WordPress application, database, and media assets into AWS with load balancing and autoscaling suitable for high-traffic workloads.

    Solution Architecture

The centralised database was migrated and tuned for AWS performance characteristics. Separate production and staging deployments ensure safe testing, while the operational model includes backups, rollback capability, and hands-on DevOps support.
