Cloud Engineering Services

Our cloud engineering service is for CTOs and founders whose platform has outgrown how it was first deployed. Common triggers are a migration off a smaller hosting provider, a cloud bill that keeps rising, an enterprise customer asking hard questions about resilience, or an inherited account that nobody fully understands.

The work sits within our DevOps and cloud practice and is done by senior engineers only, each with 25+ years of engineering experience. We work across AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, and we recommend the platform that fits where your data already lives and what your customers require, not the one with the best marketing.

We design cloud architectures that match the real load and risk of your product: multi-zone where uptime matters, autoscaling where traffic is spiky, and managed services where they remove operational work without locking you in unnecessarily. Every environment is defined in Terraform, so it can be reviewed, reproduced and recovered.

Migrations are planned in stages with a rollback at each step. We move data first where possible, run old and new side by side, and only switch traffic once the new environment has proven itself. Security is built in from the start: least-privilege access, secrets management, network segmentation and logging.

Cost is treated as an engineering problem. Once monitoring is in place, we right-size instances, use reserved or spot capacity where it is safe, and remove the resources nobody remembers creating.

We built and optimised Mozilla Foundation's fundraising systems, which process donations from supporters worldwide. We rebuilt Be-IQ's AWS environment after a failing EKS setup, and built a highly redundant, auto-scaling AWS platform for Dartera with active/passive failover, CloudFront CDN and Redis caching. We also migrated NeuroGym's high-traffic platform from DigitalOcean to AWS.

Most cloud work begins with a paid Architecture Assessment of your current estate: accounts, networking, access, costs and recovery. You receive a prioritised plan with a realistic time and cost range, and you decide what we take on.

Delivery is billed weekly on actual hours, all infrastructure stays in your own accounts, and every engagement ends with runbooks and a recorded walkthrough. Many clients then keep us on as a managed service so a senior engineer who knows the platform handles upgrades, incidents and cost reviews.
